Warren M. Alter is the Founder and President of Alter Surety Group, Inc., a boutique surety agency specializing exclusively in contract and commercial surety bonds. With more than 35 years of experience in the industry, Warren has built a strong reputation as a trusted surety advisor, serving the bonding needs of hundreds of contractors throughout Florida.

Warren’s success is rooted in his deep industry knowledge, attention to detail, and unwavering commitment to helping contractors grow their businesses. Known for his innovative thinking and relentless determination, he takes an aggressive, solution-oriented approach to surety bonding—working tirelessly to secure the best possible outcomes for his clients. His ability to develop long-standing relationships with both contractors and top-rated surety companies has been a key factor in the continued growth and success of Alter Surety Group. Warren often sums up his philosophy simply: “If a bond is doable, I will get it done.”

A graduate of the University of Florida, Warren earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1987 with a concentration in Finance and Accounting. He began his career with Prudential Insurance Company in personal lines before transitioning into surety in 1991 with Collinsworth, Alter, Nielson, Fowler & Dowling, Inc., where he focused on insurance and bonding for the construction industry. In 2002, he helped launch and grow Nielson, Alter & Associates.

In late 2009, Warren founded Alter Surety Group, Inc., creating a specialized, bonds-only agency dedicated to providing expert guidance and tailored surety solutions to contractors and businesses throughout the region.

A proud South Florida native raised in Pembroke Pines, Warren is also deeply committed to giving back to his community. For more than 25 years, he has actively supported the American Cancer Society, a cause close to his heart as his mother, sister and son are all cancer survivors. 

Warren is married with two adult children. Outside of work, he enjoys early-morning boot camp workouts, traveling, playing pickleball, and spending quality time with his family.
